Spring is finally here and with it comes the excitement of a new real estate season. With all of that excitement it’s important to remember one of the season’s most important traditions, Spring-cleaning.
Whether you’re new to the game, or a seasoned pro, organizing your real estate business is never a bad thing. Cleaning up your business and getting things organized will make you feel refreshed and ready to take on the new season without any of the negativity and clutter from seasons prior.
Follow these tips to give your business the Spring-cleaning it needs to become even more successful:
1. Start with a Plan
For those of you feeling overwhelmed by all of the things that you need to do, start by writing your ideas down. Organize those ideas into categories based on a timeline of when you want to accomplish them. If you find you have too many projects, pick a few that you really want to focus on and know that you can get done.
2. Clear your Workspace
Clutter causes unnecessary stress. Now is the time to go through those stacks of files you have been dreading to get to. While going through them won’t be the most thrilling experience, you will thank yourself when you are finished and feeling accomplished. Who knows, maybe you will find you enjoy color-coordinating and labeling files.
3. Invest in Technology
One great way to get organized is to invest in some new tech products or software. If you have been waiting for a good time to make that step, now is the perfect time. There are a lot of programs available today that can help make your real estate investing business more efficient. A few of our favorites include; Evernote, Dropbox, Docusign, MagicPlan, Smartr, and Open Home Pro.
4. Update your Contacts
Have you been busy networking? Hopefully the answer is yes, and you have a ton of business cards and contact info you need to organize. While you’re at it, clear out of all the old contacts you have stored that you never communicate with. Or better yet, make one last attempt to reach out to them before getting rid of them.
