Delegates of the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson, on July 4, 1776. From that day on, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence.
In one day’s time, people all over the country will be celebrating their independence with family get-togethers, barbeques and any number of fun activities.
